Happy October! There’s no better way to kick off Fall than with some new boots. I want to show you some of my favorite boot trends for fall, including similar styles we have available now at Chic!
1.) Tall Boots: Below or Above the Knee?
The answer to that question is, well, BOTH!
A tall boot is no doubt a fall wardrobe staple. But “tall” can have varying definitions ranging from below or above the knee! The mid-calf/knee-high boot trend has been huge in 2019, especially paired with a midi Hemline, but if you’re looking for more this season then you must try over the knee/thigh high boots with a shorter skirt or dress. This trend is in the same family and still has that classy and effortless look of a skirt/dress over a tall boot. Plus, the fabulous silhouette leaves room to play around with different patterns and textures. Of course, your preferred tall boots can be worn countless other ways!
2.) Statement Boots
A statement boot is a great piece to invest in! Printed boots and booties will be huge this fall and are a fun alternative to your basic blacks and browns. The animal print craze of the last couple seasons is still going strong and now showing up on boots in the form of snakeskin and croc prints. You can also find other cool patterns like houndstooth, two-tone combos and florals. Don’t love prints? A bold color will achieve the same purpose. I have been loving leather boots in turquoises, reds, yellows. Bright boots have been on the runway a lot this season, especially in the trendy, slouchy style. Though seemingly obvious, a statement boot is one of the best ways to change up your favorite outfit. They’re also a great, stress-free way to try out color blocking or pattern mixing! If you already have your go-to everyday boot, a statement boot is exactly what your wardrobe needs!
3.) Combat Boots
Fall 2019 is the full-fledged return of the combat boot, and I’m here for it! To be clear, I’m not just talking about chunky lace-up Doc Martens, no; these are an updated style of a combat boot and they are everywhere! Designers like Stuart Weitzman, Gucci, and Valentino are adding combat boots to their collections, and so should you. Heeled or platform, suede or leather, chunky or sleek, there's a take on this classic look for every personal style. Even better, they’re as versatile as they are stylish! I see combat boots as the colder weather equivalent of your favorite slip-on or sneaker. We’ve been seeing the sporty/chic trend of dresses with sneakers spring and summer, but now that it’s fall why not try it with combat boots? You get that same feminine but edgy vibe but a little more New England fall-friendly.
