5 Winter Outfits you'll wear on repeat

2. Sweater Dress + Knee high boots + Wrap-style coat

Getting dressed in winter does not come without its challenges. Not only do the subzero temperatures unceremoniously eliminate half of your wardrobe, but your outfits are also no longer just a vehicle for self-expression and creativity- they must be practical, weather-appropriate, and most importantly, warm. Trust us, we get it. But we wouldn't let a little snow and wind put a damper on your mood, especially when it comes to choosing an outfit. No seasonal slumps here!

While you may want to bundle up in a full-on snowsuit à la A Christmas Story, there are other ways you can look cute without getting frostbite. And while it will be mostly cold the next few months here in New England, we will likely get a few warmer-than-normal days thrown in by Mother Nature too. Here are 5 minimal effort winter outfits that we think you’ll wear on repeat.

1. Puffer coat + Belt Bag and High-waist leggings. (right)

The puffer coat (or jacket) may very well be the most popular winter outerwear style and most of us own one; for good reason: they are super warm. High-waist leggings are a fresh alternative to jeans and you can find them fleece-lined for added warmth. For a fresh look, strap that bum/belt bag across your chest for a hip street-style look.

You know that feeling when you pull on a favorite sweater? Multiply that times 2 with a sweater dress. Wondering how you’ll stay warm in a dress? It’s easy when you consider heavier, more insulating fabrics like wool or cashmere knits, along with high necklines, and long sleeves. We recommend investing in a few thick pairs of high-quality tights too. Tall boot cover your legs and the addition of a wrap style wool coat creates a luxe vibe that will keep you looking warm and oh so chic.

3. Teddy Coat + Turtleneck + Leather trousers (right)

Cozy and soft like its namesake, the teddy bear, the teddy coat is a modern faux fur that can add texture, dimension and of course, warmth to any winter look. It’s an instant update for classic pieces like a black turtleneck sweater and leather trousers. Add a layer of insulation by wearing tights under your leather pants. A great pair of booties will complete this chic, cool girl look.

4. Belted sweater + Turtleneck + Denim

Instead of throwing on a boxy, oversize sweater, consider adding a belt to your sweater to give your look some shape and define your waist. You can do this with a pullover but it looks especially good over a longer length cardigan style sweater. Regardless of style, the sweater can be solid or print, fine knit or chunky. The denim choice is yours; this look works well with skinny jeans, wider leg jeans, high waist jeans and trouser-style jeans. Add a layer of warmth with a turtleneck and don’t forget the warm socks!

5. Ponchos & Capes

Easy to wear and statement-making, consider ponchos and capes as alternatives to puffer jackets and wool coats. They can be styled as dressy and causal and look especially great with tall boots.
